September 28, in Hanoi, Vietnam Journalists Association has opened training workshop on Journalism with climate change, for the journalists in the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ), for 3 days (from 28 to September 30).
Implementation of action programs CAJ tenure 2015 - 2017 proposed by VJA and in his capacity as Chairman of CAJ, this is the first operation in Vietnam 3 activities organized this year. Refresher course "Journalism with climate change issues" for ASEAN journalists
11 reporters from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines and reporters from VJA attended.
In his opening speech, Mr. Thuan Huu, VJA President, CAJ President, stressed that the issue of climate change has and will change the comprehensive and in-depth development and global security, such as energy, water, food, social, employment, diplomatic, cultural, economic and commercial. "I believe that with the efforts of experts, lecturers and practitioners, this training workshop will help journalists improve the capacity and skills to report on climate change as well as contributing to strengthen solidarity and links between journalists in ASEAN ", Mr. Thuan Huu emphasized.
The training workshop contributed to raising awareness and skills for journalists reporting on environmental issues and stressed the importance of the press for the protection of the environment, with content such as climate change status current global; risks and responses, skills reporting on climate change, ASEAN journalists with climate change issues; building and maintaining a network of environmental journalists - the experience of Vietnam, ...
